The role you’ll contribute:
The Office Manager of Research, is responsible for managing the administrative, business activities and building operations for a specified Research Department or Departments within the AdventHealth Research Institute. The Manager provides direct support to the Department Leaders and works closely with Research Faculty, Clinical, Operational, Scientific and Facilities leadership to ensure efficient execution for administrative functions, building maintenance, procurement of supplies, building design and construction, and post-award study financials are executed efficiently. Supervises administrative personnel for the proficient scheduling, planning, set-up and close-out of departmental meetings, seminars, External Advisory Boards, and Faculty/Investigator trainings. Serves as institutional representative for AdventHealth HR partners in matters pertaining to training, and other employee matters. Adheres to all applicable AdventHealth policies, procedures and local, state and federal agencies and accrediting bodies. Actively participates in outstanding staff support and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
- Provides leadership and supervisory support to Research Institute administrative team members (e.g. administrative assistants, executive assistants, research administrative coordinators, reception desk staff and/or other office personnel).
- Manages day to day operations of the Research Institute administrative office including, but not limited to providing support to hiring managers for hiring processes, identifying appropriate staff training and growth opportunities, and initiating positive discipline, as necessary.
- Develops and implements administrative staff/office policy to to maximize productivity, ensure accuracy, reduce employee turnover, and promote positive employee relations.
- Supports leadership with planning, executive and other managerial and/or administrative duties surrounding department events, town halls, symposia, conferences, etc. Oversees department functions including equipment, supplies, furniture, etc.
- Develops and disseminates training materials and educates new and current staff on current administrative office policies and procedures. Organizes, develops, and/or teaches on-going administrative staff through development programs, classes, and seminars.
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:
- Bachelor’s Degree in business, healthcare or related field OR Associates degree with five years’ experience including two years supervisory experience
