Residential Assistant - Continuous Residential Support Program (CRS) - $17.25/Hr

Closing Date: 05/15/2023

FT 40 Hr/wk Assists adults with intellectual disabilities in a 24-hour residential setting to achieve maximum levels of autonomy and a high quality of life. Supports and collaborates with program participants to promoting self-esteem, and self-sufficiency, for both the residential and community settings. Responsibilities include: accurate documentation for services, goal planning, and activities promoting skill development to enhance and maintain healthy living (examples include cooking, menu planning, grocery shopping, making and keeping important appointments, budgeting, and social skill development). This position also requires compliance with maintaining line of sight for program participants.

Worksite: Canterbury, Scotland, Oakdale, Norwich (Float Position)

Hours: Sun- Thurs, 11:00 pm - 7:00 am

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Engages and supports program participants in residential recovery-oriented activities, as well as recreational, social, and community events
  • Teaches skills supporting program participants with daily living skills and meeting daily living needs such as shopping, laundry, housekeeping, transportation, etc.
  • Implements designated goal activities in coordination with the Service Coordinator or Director/Coordinator
  • Provides crisis intervention support
  • Performs light housekeeping, disinfecting, yard maintenance, and snow removal on sidewalks and emergency exits
  • Provides program participants with emotional support
  • Monitors program participant’s physical and mental health, and reports relevant information to the Service Coordinator or Director/Coordinator
  • Documents interactions in the program communication log
  • Monitors and reports program participant’s compliance to their conditional release order when applicable
  • Provides coverage as needed at any of the Agency sites based on Agency need
  • Engages in continuous, concerted efforts to access, obtain, respond to pertinent Agency information/communications, and disseminates as appropriate
  • Provides working conditions that maximize safety for staff and program participants
  • Maintains CPR/FA certification
  • Other responsibilities of Reliance Health staff, such as participation in Agency events, adhering to Agency policies and procedures, training requirements, etc.
  • Performs duties while demonstrating Agency Core Competencies and Values

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Work experience in the provision of mental health services preferred
  • Valid CT Driver’s License, vehicle registration and insurance
  • Good driving record
