Retail Associate

As a Retail Associate, you will generally be responsible for stocking the shelves and/or coolers, efficiently breaking down deliveries, and helping guests on the sales floor. Additionally, you must be comfortable with cleaning/organizing as you work -- just be a great a team player. PERIOD.

- A Quick Learner: you are able to take direction and learn quickly with a growth mindset (prior liquor store/experience preferred but not required). You MUST work more efficiently over time after learning the ropes.
- A People-Person: you love to serve customers and help them find current store offerings while also being a respectful team-player. You are able to lead by example and gain the respect of teammembers with your ACTIONS.
- Reliable & Dependable: your word is your bond and you will always show up for your shift
- Attentive: Aspiring to become a well-rounded package store employee with attention to detail for restocking items, organizing shelves, and cleaning near the end of your shift
- Somewhat sane & non-dramatic (bonus points if you have a great sense of humor)
- Able to lift 25-40 lb boxes on delivery days (primarily Thurs/Fri) and able to work a flexible schedule if needed
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced work environment with varying temperature conditions – e.g., coolers, juice/soda room, sales floor, etc
- Located within a reasonable distance to our store
- Seeking to be a part of something BIG and GROWING

You cannot work here if you:
- Are not available during holidays and weekends -- you are basically applying to work at a bar. We are a liquor store so when the majority of people are NOT working, that is when all team members have to work because that is when the store is busy AF (e.g., after work + weekends + holidays). If you want to go out and party every late night weekend, this job is NOT FOR YOU.
- Are uncoachable and well-versed in the fine art of making excuses for why something is not done or flaking on your shift (we've heard it all over the years)
- Object to cleaning/organizing as you work
- Are lazy, move slowly (imagine Jabba the Hut), feel the need to sit down, and/or always look at your phone while "working"
- Are toxic, have a huge ego, love to go on power trips, gossipy, and/or love to start unnecessary drama
- Do not own a vehicle or have to call uber for a ride to work (Car is 100% required). Lack of transportation due to a shared vehicle is NOT an excuse for missing your pre-assigned shift
- Have never taken initiative during your career and do not know what going "above & beyond" means

- Starting pay of $12/hr - can vary based on prior experience. Note there is a training period of 2 months. The better you work, the more hours/pay you will get over time -- simple formula right?

- We are quickly growing, serving more customers every year - we now offer local delivery via doordash and we hope to do a store expansion one day in the future!

• Stock shifts are generally day shift (12-7:30pm) or night shift (4pm to close). It is best to be honest and transparent about your availability for this job. Are there any days or shifts you ABSOLUTELY cannot work consistently?
• What year did you graduate high school?
• Please note that paychecks are available weekly (every monday) and there is a 1-2 month training period for this job. Are you ok with a training pay of $10/hr? Upon completion of the training period, your pay will be increased to $12+/hr.
• Are you willing to occasionally work more than 8 hours per workday and/or able to stay on your feet for extended periods of time?
