Retail Sales Associate: All That Glitters

Location: 151114 SE McLoughlin Milwaukie, OR

Pay: $17/hr.

80% of our Retail Sales Associates average an additional $2-$4/hr. in commission each week

• Eligible for a .50 increase at 90 days and another .50 increase at 6 months plus annual performance review and performance-based increases.

We are seeking a highly motivated Retail Sales Associate/Pawnbroker to join our growing company in the exciting world of the pawn industry! If you're passionate about retail and helping people in your community, but tired of the same day-to-day grind and late-night hours, we have the perfect opportunity for you! Must be at least 21 years of age and able to pass a criminal background check.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Provide enthusiastic and excellent customer service to meet the needs of customers who are buying, selling merchandise, and/or obtaining a loan in a fast paced retail sales environment.
• Other essential functions include:
  • Purchasing merchandise from customers, setting up loans, and providing the best financial solution for their needs.
  • Ensuring asset protection through inventory control, proper safety procedures, documentation, and securing customer loans
  • Perform general cleaning duties and merchandise displays neatly
  • Collaborate with team members and communicate clearly to the store management team
  • Complies with all established company policies and procedures while upholding the security and confidentiality of documents and data

What You Bring:

• You are highly creative in selling items and engaging your customers, possess excellent problem-solving skills, the ability to think on your feet, and a strong team-player mentality.
• Your previous experience in retail and/or the pawn industry, preferably at least 2 years, with a heavy focus on customer service and sales has prepared you for this multi-faceted role.
• You have a professional and friendly demeanor, coupled with a 'can-do' attitude to achieve results to exceed sales goals
• You stay organized, give attention to detail, follow instructions, and multi-task in a professional and efficient manner
• Your solid written and verbal communication skills make you an effective communicator with customers to identify and serve their needs
• You are comfortable being around firearms and working in a dynamic retail sales setting.

Preference will be given to those with:

• Previous experience as a Pawnbroker
• Knowledge of commonly pawned merchandise
• Firearm/Form 4473 experience
