Job description
The Returns Technician will actively conduct the receiving, reconciliation, and documentation of clinical site returns as well as support the staging of materials for destruction and prepare associated documentation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Receive clinical site returns into the Returns Processing Area.
  • Collaborate with receiving personnel to process Returns for Reuse.
  • Reconcile return materials according to customer-approved Investigational Drug Return Instructions (IDRI).
  • Complete data entry in the returns database and files for each receipt.
  • Regularly perform returns inventory for customers as requested.
  • Dispatch Clinical Returns Kits upon receipt of customer requests.
  • Provide Finance with monthly reports of all returns, reconciliation, and storage for billing purposes.
  • Assist Returns and Destruction Coordinator in providing Logistics Project Managers with necessary reports and data regarding relevant receiving activities.
  • Coordinate with Project Management teams to secure appropriate material disposition.
  • Reconcile all materials to be destroyed and document accordingly.
  • Accurately perform inventory transactions in SAP and CUIR.
  • Physically prepare all materials for destruction, and assist in including proper labeling and pack-out for delivery to destruction facility.
  • Ensure Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) are maintained for all active compounds in returns and destruction areas.
  • Operate company forklift truck, pallet jack, hand truck, etc.
  • Ensure work areas are maintained in clean, safe, and organized condition.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree OR High School Diploma and 1 -3 years’ experience in distribution and warehousing, pharmaceutical and international preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and meet critical timelines.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong oral and written communication skill to communicate with the team, peers, management, and external contacts.
  • Ability to follow cGMPs, FDA, DEA, OSHA, and IATA Regulations.
  • Working knowledge of computers, MS Products, including Word, Project, and Excel, and ERP system functionality (SAP, JD Edwards, etc.)
