We serve underserved, underinsured, and uninsured persons living in northern Hamilton County providing them with the same access to quality healthcare as fully insured persons. Under the direction of the Support Services Manager, the
Revenue Cycle Analyst reviews reports to assure that accurate patient demographic, insurance, and financial data are entered into the NextGen system at or prior to each visit and ensures the accurate processing of patient accounts across all locations which includes providing recommendations to management on improving front office activities.
Responsibilities also include:
- Uses knowledge of collection procedures to facilitate timely reimbursements and improve patient and staff understanding of THCC’s financial guidelines. Educates and supports front office personnel with collecting service fees, co-pays, and outstanding balances at each visit.
- Facilitates training of new PSS staff on insurance categories and guidelines. Assists management team to meet departmental objectives by monitoring adherence to revenue cycle guidelines.
- Leads by example to enhance customer service skills of front office staff and build strong, positive relationships with internal and external customers.
Experience / Skill Requirements:
- High School Diploma required; Associate degree preferred
- 3 years related experience in a medical office or insurance company
- 2 or more years’ experience within a healthcare revenue cycle position such as registration, scheduling, billing, cash collection or customer service
- Medical Billing and Coding Certification highly preferred
- Knowledge of and experience with third-party payer guidelines, reimbursement, follow-up, and collections
- Experience with NextGen or electronic health record software and Excel
