APT Healthcare is hiring for an RCM Specialist at our Woodstock, MD office location. Our ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, knowledge in the areas of medical billing, collections, payment posting and will be able to uphold the policies and procedures of the RCM Team.
Primary Responsibilities -
Work collaboratively with peers to cover workloads, special projects, and any other assigned duties.
Work cross-functionally with EDI/claims, charge coordinator, cash applications specialist and patient advocate.
Communicate all issues or potential issues to leadership.
Meet, understand, and follow up on KPI standards, SOPs/Policies and procedures related to position and Revenue Cycle Management compliance and payer standards.
Have knowledge and be able to perform required systems entries for claim/encounter information.
Monitor coding changes to ensure that most current information is available.
Verify billing accounts with accounts receivable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted.
Verify discrepancies and resolve billing issues.
Follow up on unpaid claims within standard billing cycle timeframe.
Follow through on claims and claims denials to ensure maximum reimbursement for services provided.
Develop open communications with peers, management, and other departmental areas for the purpose of sharing valuable information for the company.

Hourly pay of $18 - $24 per hour. Exact compensation will vary based on skills and experience.
Flexible schedule, Monday - Friday between the hours of 8:30 AM - 5 PM, with the potential to go hybrid, 1 - 2 days per week (WFH).

Minimum Qualifications -
Education/Experience Needed - High School graduation or equivalent required. Some college is preferred. Have a minimum of one years’ experience in Accounts Receivable collections or related revenue cycle functions. Have proficient knowledge in reading and understanding insurance EOBs. Must have strong knowledge of payer rules, ICD-10, CPT/HCPCS codes, coordination of benefits, collections, appeals process of claims and be proficient in MS Office.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities - Demonstrated attention to detail accompanied by outstanding organizational skills. Comprehension of medical terminology and have familiarity federal state and commercial insurance guidelines and policies preferred. Must have excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. The RCM Specialist must also have accurate and efficient data entry skills along with the ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced, high-volume environment.
