We are seeking a motivated, engaging, forward-thinking nurse educator to provide quality education and training to our team of dedicated professionals. In this role, you will be responsible for leading and implementing staff education and training activities that drive excellence and ensure full organizational compliance. Position Summary:

  • Evaluate, revise, and continuously improve existing training and educational curricula to meet the evolving needs of the agency and improve the quality of support provided to the individuals we serve.
  • Assess the learning needs of adult learners and tailor educational opportunities to meet diverse learning styles and ensure effective learning.
  • Lead staff and individuals supported by New Hope Community in health-related education in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and NHC standards.
  • Enhance the learning experience and foster new skill development, utilizing a variety of training techniques and methods of instruction.
  • Monitor employee compliance with annual competencies and skill attestation.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Health Services to develop and facilitate the orientation process of all new nurses.
  • Maintain current knowledge of infection control trends and employee health practices.
  • Serve as the on-site infection control professional regarding prevention and response activities, in accordance with current CDC recommendations.
  • Be knowledgeable of practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing functions throughout our organization.
  • Serve as the designated associate responsible for monitoring Public Health Advisories from local, state, and federal agencies including the CDC.
  • Serve as a resource to all departments and personnel.
  • Serve as a member of the Health Services team, reporting to the Director of Health Services and working collaboratively with the Education and Training Department as a member of the Orientation faculty.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
  • Must possess current valid license as a registered nurse in the state of New York.
  • 2-5 years’ experience working as a registered nurse in a clinical setting.
  • Preferred experience teaching adult learners.
  • Preferred experience with OPWDD.
  • CPR certification upon hire or obtain during first year. CPR certification must remain current during employment.
  • Strong oral /written communication skills and people skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
