JOB TITLE: Roving Client Care Monitor

DEPARTMENT: Security

LOCATION: Yonkers

SALARY: $18 per hour

SUMMARY:

Ensures safety and security of clients, staff and property in special needs facilities and in emergency apartments. Work is performed under the general supervision of a Shift Supervisor or Security Director. Proof of COVID-19 vaccinations required.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Make regular rounds of special needs sites and own/managed properties (interior and exterior); respond to and report hazardous situations, trespassers, illegal activities, etc.
• Investigate potential problems, keeping accurate written records of actions taken; secure all Westhab property.
• Respond to, and document, calls for assistance from Westhab clients and staff.
• Interact with and monitor specific clients/client families. Implement monitor-sponsored incentive program for clients; identify clients who should receive incentives; monitor the impact of this program on client behavior.
• Intervene to de-escalate potential crisis situations; Document all such situations and interventions.
• Maintain good rapport with clients and encourage clients to comply with program policies and procedures; document non-compliance.
• Complete logs, incident reports and all other required documentation.
• Make CPS calls as directed; complete follow up reports.
• Interact with outside providers during and after any crisis.
• Perform duties related to fire incidents; evacuate buildings when necessary.
• Insure safety and security of all assigned equipment.
• Remain at assigned post when not making rounds.

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

HS Diploma or equivalent, plus any education and/or experience in human services and Security, which provides the applicant with the required knowledge and skills. Good writing skills and phone manner essential. Clean, valid NYS driver’s license is required. Must be able to work flexible shifts, days and overtime.
