Job description

West Bay Energy is seeking a Construction Safety and Compliance Manager. They are responsible for ensuring the Company’s Safety, Health, and employee compliance plan is enacted on projects and in the office.

Responsibilities

• Assist project supervision with the implementation of the Company Safety Plan for the project in its entirety.
• Identify areas of training, conduct and document training.
• Perform orientation of all new employees.
• Review all work plans and methods, ensuring compliance with Company Plan and regulations.
• Frequently inspect and document construction activities.
• Coordinate safety compliance with subcontractors.
• Ensure documentation of specific programs are captured (i.e., monthly crane inspections, safety harness, and lanyard inspections) and all deficiencies are corrected.
• Assist with investigating near misses, accidents, property damage, theft, and vandalism.
• Orientate and escort, along with project supervision, any regulatory compliance inspector(s), emergency services, vendors, etc. accessing the project.
• Coordinate and stock safety supplies as needed for the job and manage safety budget alongside Project Manager.
• Project Safety Managers, working alongside Project Managers, report directly to Regional Safety Managers.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in Construction safety management.
• Working knowledge of OSHA standards and regulations.
• Ability to develop and implement safety programs.
• Experienced in root cause investigations.
• Excellent communication & presentation skills.
• Strong organizational & time-management skills.

Physical Demands (include but not limited to)

• Work involves standing and walking for extended periods.
• Work requires the following motions: stretching, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, twisting, throwing, reaching, squatting, and ability to climb ladders that have capacity limits of 300 lbs.
• Requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
• Ability to work at heights, below grade level, or on water.
• This job requires the individual to have good hand-to-eye coordination.
• Ability to use hands for signal purposes when needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
