107-PUBLIC SAFETY IT COORDINATOR
DEPARTMENT: TECHNOLOGY STATUS: FULL TIME
STARTING HOURLY SALARY RANGE: $28.30
SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. or as needed
EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must be able to enforce St. Clair County network security, media, and computer usage policies. Applicants must be able to support all County staff by identifying, clarifying, analyzing, and producing solutions to IT problems from desktop level issues to network and server issues. Applicants must be able to install and configure software and hardware components according to defined specifications. Applicants must show an ability to detect, diagnose and troubleshoot problems both hardware and software related.
Applicants must be comfortable working with St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office (including Jail staff and Central Dispatch staff to install, maintain, and troubleshoot all video surveillance systems (CCTV and Body Cams). Must be familiar with RFID systems (Card Access) as well as other non-descript systems utilized by both the Sheriff’s Department and Jail Management group. This can include but not limited to phone systems, radio systems, inmate phones systems, body scanners, magnetic door locks, etc.
Applicants must demonstrate strong communication skills when working with the Sheriff’s Office and District Attorney’s Office. Additionally, Applicants will be required to work with IT vendors as well as request purchase orders and ordering material that is needed to complete one's job. Applicants must also demonstrate a team mentality since working closely with others within the IT Division will be a crucial component of the job. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Pocesses a high school diploma or GED and have at least 5 years of previous IT experience. Associated Degree or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
