Position Title: Safety Focused Personnel

Position overview:

The services will support various construction activities by providing services for various construction projects. The work will consist of tasks such as: quality assurance surveillance, reporting requirements, project scheduling, safety compliance, project coordination, construction management functions, construction compliance reviews, attend weekly and monthly meetings, and administration support. The required services include onsite assistance and guidance to government construction field offices; onsite construction inspection, identifying and reporting potential construction issues to the proper authority, preparing quality assurance reports, logging and distributing submittals, quality control plans and storm water pollution prevention plans. Review safety plans and perform safety inspections when required. Provide onsite administrative services; job site safety; material testing; quantity verifications; material scheduling; monitor construction progress and report to appropriate authority; project coordination with the Resident Engineer Office; tracking and reporting daily job activities; assist with the development of scopes of work (SOW) for potential construction modifications; review of Network Analysis Schedules (NAS); preliminary analysis of construction contractor claims; and other incidental services related to the services.

This project is contingent upon award.

Responsibilities and duties:

• Ensures that the project construction complies with plans and specifications and that contractor follows the contract documents.
• Attend pre-construction conference for applicable task order specified construction contract.
• Attend a variety of conferences/meetings required of the construction contractor such as meetings to discuss scheduling, potential claims, specific areas of work or problems during the progress of the construction contract.
• Receive, review, process, monitor, provide comments and recommendations for submittals.
• Provide quality assurance and safety oversight and make recommendations for corrective actions as required
• Document and provide reports regarding contractor progress toward accomplishing contractual scopes of work

Required education, knowledge and skills:

• 5+ years related experience
• Meet requirements of safety officer or similar work.
• Capable of monitoring several types of work activity.
• Average agility and dexterity. Duties will include moderate walking over rough, uneven or slippery surfaces, recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, climbing ladders or similar activities, recurring lifting of moderately heave objects less than 50 lbs. and regular visits to construction sites.
• Must pass a pre-employment background check
• Ability to acquire a security clearance.
• Valid driver’s license
• Travel and relocation may be required
