BASIC FUNCTION:
The Sales Specialist - Municipal is responsible for providing the day-to-day support to assigned Municipal accounts, assuring that CP&S provides the highest possible level of customer service. This person will be the primary contact for priority accounts and will be responsible for rapid delivery of quotations; submittal data and other information needed by Channel Partners to help drive sales growth. This will require the candidate to develop detailed product knowledge and will require strong organizational and communication skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Acts as a liaison between assigned strategic Municipal accounts and Crane Pumps & Systems
- Understand customer needs, issues and requests, and work with all parts of the organization to get them addressed in a timely manner
- Take the lead responding to all Customer quality, delivery and price enquiries for assigned strategic accounts
- Ability to review customer specifications to determine best value add solution for the application
- Maintain Key Process Indicators such as new product sales, quotes wins and losses or quote response time, as requested by VP/GM
- Utilize all CP&S tools required to answer the customer
- Provide Channel Partner product training as requested by VP/GM
- Travel up to 50% of time for in field end customer visits, tradeshows, and Channel Partner visits
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- BS degree in Marketing, Business, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 2-3yrs. Minimum pump sales/application experience
- Strong emphasis on systems thinking and understanding of rotating equipment a plus.
- Ability to respond with a strong sense of urgency and care to customer requests, inquiries, and problem issues
- Ability to maintain positive and constructive relationships internally and externally, even under difficult circumstances
