Whittier Seafood is hiring seafood processors for our 2023 Salmon Season in Whittier Alaska. We employ approximately 250 people during peak operation. We produce fresh/frozen H&G (whole, head and guts removed) and Filleted salmon, as well as Ikura and green roe (fish egg products). Whittier Seafood processing season is approximately Mid-May to Late September (end of season determined by Plant Manager).

Basic job duties include:

• Sorting and weighing salmon by species,
• Head and gutting: Pinning, cutting, feeding head and gut machine,
• Cleaning fish, inside and out
• Grading for quality of fish
• Fillet line, trim, pin bone, grade fresh and frozen fillets
• Frozen products, racking, loading, and unloading freezers,
• Toting/packing product to ship, both fresh and frozen product as needed,
• Cleaning and sanitizing plant and equipment,

Some information as follows:

• Will train, no previous experience necessary,
• Work 7 days a week, cold and wet working conditions,
• You must be able to stand and work at repetitive task for long periods of time,
• Starting wage for Processors is $18.00 hr. regular and $27.00 hr. overtime,
• Overtime is paid for any hours worked over 8 per day and 40 per work week,
• Round trip transportation from Seattle to Anchorage (see website for details)
• Company Shuttle from Airport to Plant,
• Room and Board: Housing, Meals and Laundry provided, $10 per day, deducted from paycheck,
• Paydays are every other Friday, direct deposit available and highly recommended,
• Rain gear, gloves, and safety equipment are provided at no cost, (boots for a fee)
• Must be at least 18 years of age,
• Must be authorized to work in the US,
• Must have valid, government issued, photo ID,
