Hampton Farms is the leading In-Shell Peanut Company in the United States. Additionally, we are a leading producer of other types of nuts, nut butters, and trail mix for the retail (Supermarket, Club Stores and Mass Merchandisers), food service, and commercial markets. Our products are found in grocery stores, convenience stores, and many baseball stadiums. We distribute under the Hampton Farms, AVA, Stone Creek brands and Private Label products. This position is based at our Springfield, MA facility.
Reports to: Quality Assurance Manager
Food Safety Responsibilities:
- Duty to report food safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate action
- Duty to report illness or bodily fluid contamination that could impact food safety
- Duty to follow Good Manufacturing Practices
Regulatory Responsibilities:
- Awareness in role to ensure we meet SQF and other regulatory requirements.
Job Responsibilities:
- Work with other Sanitation Technicians during normal cleaning tasks and special projects
- Maintain cleanliness of production equipment and production rooms
- Receive department deliveries and properly document
- Attend daily production meetings; offer input from a sanitation perspective
- Work with other departments when needed and on the weekends
- Perform daily sanitation chemical checks
- Perform weekly sanitation supply inventory
- Perform monthly chemical cabinet checks
- Perform monthly safety kit checks
- Perform any cleaning tasks per the master sanitation schedule
- Perform any other tasks deemed necessary by department manager
- Fill foot baths daily
- Must be able to read and write as forms need to be filled out daily
- Must be dependable
- Knowledge of food safety and the ability to learn
