POSITION SUMMARY
We need dependable candidates who will provide our customers with thorough and quality services! The Sanitation Technician?s role is to provide our client, employees and all stakeholders with a safe, clean and sanitized environment through the use of best practices for infection control and sanitizing while cleaning and sanitizing the work environment. In addition to providing traditional janitorial services, the Sanitation Technician is part of a team specialized in the use of specific PPE, cleaning products and practices consistent with appropriate responses to COVID-19 and other pathogens prevention and response. This team of Sanitation Technicians will be deployed to sanitize specific areas as per the direction of the client and supervisors.
THIS IS A TEMPOARY POSITION (month to month position- with the posibility to potentially go to permanent employment).
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
1.The Sanitation Technician ensures the environment is clean and sanitized.
- Cleans and sanitizes all assigned work areas, including bathroom sinks, toilets, tubs and commodes.
- Sweeps, vacuums, and mops floors and stairways.
- Polishes furniture, metal work, and chrome using appropriate cleaning and polishing compounds.
- Dusts such items as blinds, furniture, file cabinets, and windowsills using treated dust mittens, cloths, or hand cleaning items.
- Gathers and disposes of rubbish by hand or with the use ofpowered equipment.
- Prioritizes work assignments in order to complete tasks in a timelymanner.
- Changes assignments and reprioritizes based on unforeseen events (ie. Spills, etc.).
- Informs the supervisor when tasks need to be reprioritized and /or assignments need to change.
- Washes walls, ceilings, woodwork, and chrome using appropriate cleaning and polishing compounds as well as both step and extension ladders.
2. Use specific PPE, cleaning products and practices consistent with responding to and preventing the spread of COVID-19 and other pathogens. Maintain safe physical distancing of 6 feet or more from all others, where a face mask, gloves, goggles, and other prescribed PPE as the situation warrants, wash hands frequently, don?t come to work if you exhibit symptoms (which may include fever, cough, congestion, shortness of breath, etc.), report symptoms to your supervisor and /or HR Director before arriving to work so that precautions can be taken, wash hands for 20 seconds, don?t touch your face.
3. Demonstrate excellent customer service skills.
4. Works effectively with coworkers and supervisors to accomplish goals.
