JOB PURPOSE

This position supports Thompson’s mission by managing all repair and preventative activities pertaining to the maintenance of facilities. The maintenance planner/ scheduler primarily utilizes a computer to operate a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to handle most of the job functions. With the cooperation of all department personnel, the maintenance planner/scheduler will effectively keep facility equipment and machinery at optimal performance.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Uses computer system to develop maintenance activities reports, standard periodic reports from gathered data and prepares the weekly schedules and any backlog reports given to maintenance supervisors.


  • Responsible for deciding upon the report formats that are appropriate in detailing the analytical data regarding maintenance upkeep


  • Oversees the tracking of all equipment documentation whenever work is performed including spare parts reporting. Monitors all equipment installation, modification and removal from the facilities.


  • Creates technical specifications so that outside maintenance personnel may understand how to service equipment.


  • Evaluates the required repair work on machinery and creates the maintenance schedule for when the work will be completed.


  • Implements sound judgement to decide which personnel would be appropriate to handle the job and supplies the workers with the necessary instruction manuals and materials to install and repair the machinery. Manages the work schedule times for maintenance.


  • Produces plans on the proper storage of equipment and supplies for easy and fast retrieval during emergency situations.


  • Reviews Inventory levels and recommends the appropriate inventory level based on the type of equipment along with the frequency it is used and repaired


  • Assembles and coordinates the maintenance plan, staff, materials, equipment, along with all the other necessary resources for job completion.


EXPERIENCE and REQUIREMENTS

  • 2-3 years of similar work experience providing scheduling management in construction trade.
  • Intermediate computer skills to include the ability to use computer to maintain scheduling management system. Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Outlook and Excel).

EDUCATION

  • Ability to read and write English.
  • High School Graduate or General Equivalency Diploma (G.E.D.).

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

On rare occasions, may be asked to travel to other TFS locations to assist with special projects or events.

Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time (meeting/event attendance, or at a computer)

Ability to speak clearly and with volume required to carry on clear conversations in person, over the phone, and at public events

Physical ability to lift and carry at least 25 pounds if necessary
