Job description
JOB SUMMARY: Meet with children and families to provide individual school-related supports in the areas of safety, social-emotional development and well-being. Provide linkages to community resources for the child and the family and facilitates communication among school, home, and outside agencies.
Responsibilities:
To help students resolve personal, emotional, and social problems as they interfere with their adjustment to school and their capacity to learn at school.
To keep sufficient records of cases for use by school staff and outside agencies when appropriate.
Participate in individual and group counseling session when appropriate.
To provide support to intervention and special education teams.
To work with students on Individualized Education Plans and 504s.
To help family make appropriate social agency contacts when needed.
To serve as a liaison between home and school when collaborating with outside agencies.
Qualifications:
Minimum BA/BS, Master of Social Work (MSW) preferred
Minnesota School Social Work license
