Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Security Controls Assessor IV to join our team in supporting a large US Government program in Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • The Security Controls Assessor IV conducts a comprehensive assessment of the management, operational, and technical security controls employed within or inherited in an Information System (IS) to determine the overall effectiveness of the controls (e.g., the extent to which the controls are implemented correctly, operating as intended, and producing the desired outcome with respect to meeting the system security requirements).
  • The Security Controls Assessor IV assesses the severity of weaknesses or deficiencies discovered in the IS and its operational environment and recommends corrective actions to address vulnerabilities.
  • The Security Controls Assessor IV is responsible for Collateral, Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and Special Access Program (SAP) activities within the customer’s area of responsibility.
  • The Security Controls Assessor IV evaluates hardware and software to determine the security impact they might have on authorization boundaries, as well as evaluating the effectiveness and implementation of Continuous Monitoring Plans.
  • The Security Controls Assessor IV develops a Training Plan to educate Program Security Representatives to create and update Authority to Operate (ATO) that exist at Government mission partner sites.
  • The Security Controls Assessor IV supervises and mentors subordinate project and Team ManTech staff.

Basic Qualifications:

  • A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience with a MS/MA degree, seven (7) years of experience with a BS/BA degree, minimum of fourteen (14) years of experience with an Associate's degree, and a minimum of sixteen (16) years of experience with a HS diploma.
  • Experience in Collateral IS Security and the implementation of regulations identified in the description of duties.
  • DoD 8570.01-m IAT Level III.
  • Experience with IT security engineering lifecycle and release management; certification and accreditation (C&A)/security assessment and authorization (SA&A).
  • In-depth knowledge of the Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M) management; Contingency Plan creation, documentation, implementation, testing, and maintenance; interconnection security agreements, Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs), Memorandums of Agreement (MOAs), and Interface Control Documents (ICDs).
  • In-depth knowledge of security and privacy controls noted in NIST 800-53.
  • Experience with the role of ISSO and ISSM or SCA.

Clearance Requirements:

  • Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility
  • Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility prior to starting this position.

Physical Requirements:

  • Use of computers and an ability for productivity in a government office environment within the APG
  • Ability to travel within the APG to visit various physical customer locations.
