SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Makes periodic inspections tours throughout buildings and grounds to examine doors, windows, gates, locks and equipment.
Check for trespassers, fires, leaks from water or stream lines, or any other causes which might result in property damage and/ or loss.
Discourages loitering, prevents trespassing and maintains order.
Answers telephones and doorbells.
In emergencies, operates elevators.
May operate heating equipment.
Special Note:

Additionally, employees in this title are required to complete an 8-hour in-service training course which one (1) calendar year of completion of the 16-hour OJT course, and annually thereafter.

1. A valid New York State Security Guard registration card issued by the Department of State; and

2. Satisfactory completion of a 16-hour On-the-Job Training (OJT) course within 90 days of employment.
