Security Guard
Job description
General Summary: Guard, patrol, or monitor premises to prevent theft, violence, or infractions of rules.
This position is temporary through June 2023.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Patrolling and securing the area.
- Monitoring and analyzing CCTV camera footage.
- Guarding valuables in a secure area.
- Protecting the company’s assets relative to theft, assault, fire and other safety issues
- Responding to alarms and emergencies.
- Communicating any irregularities with management.
- Keeping an incident report record.
- Following procedures for various initiatives including fire prevention, traffic control and accident investigations
- Checking visitors in and out of the area.
- Escorting visitors around the premises.
- Ensuring compliance with government regulations
- Demonstrate respect and regard for the dignity of all clients, families, visitors and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible and courteous environment.
Education, Experience and Competencies:
- A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED.
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in security focused work.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience working in the community sector with diverse organizations and with individuals living with a range of diverse needs including disabilities, mental health, cultural diversity, and complex care needs.
- A thorough and keen attention to detail and excellent concentration skills.
- The ability to remain alert and aware of surroundings.
- An ability to remain patient and calm under pressure.
- Demonstrated high level of verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Working knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Certifications, Licenses Requirements:
- Valid driver's license and automobile insurance which meets Rhode Island minimum standards required, or the ability to obtain necessary transportation in order to perform the responsibilities/tasks of the job.
EEO/VET/LGBTQ+ EmployerGeneral Summary: To provide assertive, proactive property management services to Thrive Behavioral Health properties. Perform tasks associated with the maintenance of Thrive’s buildings and grounds.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Perform assigned routine repairs and preventative maintenance, grounds upkeep and renovations on all Thrive properties.
- Report preventative maintenance timelines and vehicle issues to manager.
- Install basic mechanical, electrical and plumbing equipment such as switches, GFIs and breakers, as well as replacement or repair of toilets and sinks, faucets etc.
- Assist in the procurement of outside vendors to provide specialized services as well as monitor the quality of performed work.
- Respond to emergency situations such as power failures, blizzards, floods, mechanical failures, vandalism, or takes assignments for tenant after hour calls for service.
- Provide on call coverage for emergencies.
- Participate in Thrive’s snow removal efforts during work hours, weekends, and after hours.
- Order, purchase, and pick up maintenance supplies and materials as needed.
- Obtain estimates for supplies, repair parts and place orders.
- Conduct HQS inspections for HUD funded properties.(Agency will pay to obtain certifications)
- Perform move-in, move out and housekeeping inspections of apartments.
- Communicate to Housing about any tenant behaviors that may negatively affect Thrive owned property.
- Recruiting and hire new staff.
- Maintain responsibility for completing performance evaluations, including routine monitoring of staff performance and performance improvement plans, as indicated.
- Monitor the day-to-day activities of assigned team members.
- Provide orientation to new team members.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Attend all agency/department required training and meetings within the prescribed period.
- Attend all Safety Training programs and be able to describe his/her responsibilities related to the general safety, department safety, and specific job-related hazards and responsibilities.

Education, Experience and Competencies:
- High School Graduate or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years of experience performing tasks outlined above.
- Basic knowledge and skill level in carpentry, plumbing, electricity, and HVAC systems which will allow for the identification and correction of problems which do not require the use of outside vendors.
- Required to provide own tools needed to handle minor repairs and simple renovation projects.
- Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision and under the pressure of constant deadlines. Basic computer literacy preferred.
