Come Join our fun Team at The Brownwood Hotel & Spa and be a part of our story! We are a luxury AAA Four Diamond Property located in The Villages, FL. We are seeking a full-time Security Officer.

JOB SUMMARY

The Security Officer protects and safeguards all hotel guests and associates, their belongings and all hotel assets. Respond rapidly to requests for emergency and non-emergency assistance in a professional manner. Ideal candidates will have experience in the hospitality industry and have the ability to work flexible shifts including, mornings, days, evenings, and overnights.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Responsible for the efficient and professional running of the loss prevention department, including relationships with other departments.
• Lead by example: Provide a gracious and aggressive hospitality towards all customers.
• Be highly familiar and adhere to all policies, procedures and standards.
• Recognize and report safety hazards
• Effectively handle any security related incidents which arise on shift.
• Ensure compliance with hotel and security SOP/LSOP
• Observe and report any security breaches
• Oversee responsibility of Key control systems.
• Conduct daily physical hazard inspections and daily patrols and complete all reports
• Assist all associates with questions, problems which might occur.
• Create a productive and positive atmosphere throughout the hotel; have a good relationship with all associates and other departments.
• Be a problem seeker and solver.
• Ensure that work area is always clean, neat and organized.
• Attend and participate in meetings on a monthly basis.
• Ensure that all safety and security supplies are well maintained.
• Complete work or special projects as assigned and make sure to meet due dates.
• Participate with the Safety Committee that will educate and communicate throughout hotel.
• Report to work on time with proper uniform, including name tag.
• Personal appearance must comply with the standard uniform of the hotel.
• Check the information board, daily event sheet, is up to date and informed about daily operations.
• Check with your immediate supervisor for additional information.
• Develop a thorough knowledge of the products, including hotel rooms, type of rooms, amenities, services of hotel, etc.
• Develop knowledge about frequent guests and their special requests and needs.
• Be familiar with cultural differences in order to meet all different customer needs.

Safety Awareness

• Maintain safety by adhering to safety policies; be responsible to report all accidents immediately.
• Support all safety programs.
• Proceed with caution when walking on slippery floors and in congested areas.
• Ensure that proper safety instructions are given before operating any equipment.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• Highschool diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 1 year Security guard experience (preferred)

PHYSICAL ENVIORNMENT

• Pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, upward reaching and lifting 20+ pounds are required for this position.
• Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
• Must be able to walk and stand for upwards of 8 hours.

The Brownwood Hotel and Spa functions 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. All associates must realize this fact and be aware that at times it may be necessary to move associates from their accustomed shifts as business demands. In addition, it is understood that business determines the amount of hours that are worked.
