Both BMS and Mike’s Bikes are part of the Pon.BIKE Business Group and therefore collaborate in the start-up phase of BMS in the US. Pon is an international trade and service organization with almost 13,000 employees spread over 450 offices in 32 countries and one of the largest family businesses in the Netherlands. Examples of brands within the Pon family are Mikes Bikes, Porsche, Audi, Gazelle, Cannondale, Caterpillar.
We are looking for a Senior Accountant, who will take a crucial role in the new start-up of Bike Mobility Services, focusing on a bike lease program for employers and employees. You will have the freedom and flexibility to shape this role in a way that you see best fit for our US label, in collaboration with the Financial Shared Service Center located in the Netherlands. What you will be doing
As the Senior Accountant, you have the unique chance to join a fast growing US start-up that already operates in 7 other countries and is leading the way forward to get more people on bikes.
You are responsible for overseeing financial data integrity, producing and reporting on financial statements and working with financial systems. In this position you will have a broad range of responsibilities involving aspects of general accounting, payroll, monthly closing, internal controls and cash management.
Some of your responsibilities
- Generate the necessary journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements required for the closing process.
- Handling the payroll and reporting employee data.
- Produce the monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close managerial reports.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and all statutory filings.
- Responsible for the work in the areas of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable.
- Design and implement cost control measures to ensure budget compliance, effective asset management and maximize cash flows.
- Prepare bank reconciliation, revenue and expenditure variance analysis, capital assets accounting, year-end closing entries.

Requirements
- You are proficient in Excel and ERP systems.
- You have an excellent attention to detail and are very organized.
- You have experience with the payroll process and systems.
- You have strong knowledge of accounting, reporting and financial concepts and principles.
- You have a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent combination of experience and education.
- You have 3-5 years of experience in the accounting field.
