As Fifth Third Banks’s Senior Android Engineer – Design System, you are passionate about creating modern, quality development standards at an enterprise scale and will work to deliver re-useable components and documentation for Android that enable us to build the future of our consumer and commercial banking applications. You will work closely with the design, product, research, and engineering organizations, while also collaborating with various lines of business to ensure the delivery of simple, delightful, and inclusive experiences. *We may consider qualified candidates in remote locations for this position.*

While operating within the Bank's risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Build native reusable components for Android that support fully accessible experiences.
- Work side-by-side with designers to ideate on concepts and bring designs to life.
- Architect efficient and reusable components and abstractions.
- Contribute to a culture of learning by documenting and sharing technical knowledge as a developer on an agile team.
- Participate in developer communities of practice by following best practices, participating in code reviews, and sharing knowledge.
- Keep up to date with latest technologies and tools and evangelize their value within the development teams.
Knowledge, Skills & Ability Required:
- 5+ years of mobile native application development experience, preferring experience in enterprise organizations.
- College degree or successful completion of a respected developer bootcamp/ or accelerator.
- Deep expertise with mobile development applications using Android dev languages (Java, Kotlin).
- Strong understanding of building functional and user-friendly UI designs and partnering with a design team.
- An understanding of accessibility principles and experience building products that adhere to WCAG AA requirements.
- Strong sense of user interface design and attuned to the fundamentals of user experience, fit, finish and overall quality.
- Familiarity with design systems and the concept of design tokens.
- Ability to communicate with all levels of management and within the team to achieve desired outcomes and build strong relationships.
- Proactive and creative in managing issues and opportunities.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Interpersonal skills: Professionalism and accountability, passion for learning and creating a shared responsibility.
