The Opportunity
The Senior Associate, Career Readiness is responsible for developing, implementing, and ensuring effective career readiness support for our All Star Code Scholars, in support of our organizational mission to create economic opportunity for our students by preparing them to gain meaningful careers and employment opportunities in a technological world. The Senior Associate, Career Readiness will help strengthen the likelihood for our Scholars to secure meaningful career opportunities by implementing and administering our Career Readiness services and partnerships; from early exposure in high school, apprenticeships, and internships, to full-time employment opportunities. This role reports directly to the Sr. Manager of Scholar Services.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- 2+ yrs working in career development and/or counseling with underrepresented populations
- Experience managing strategic programmatic partnerships
- Proven success in employment and post-secondary education placement and retention
- Detail-oriented; superb organizational skills
- Exceptional communication skills; ability to effectively communicate and collaborate across multiple teams to support seamless program execution
- Able to work effectively under pressure to meet tight deadlines and goals
- Integrity, maturity, credibility, and a demonstrated commitment to All Star Code’s mission
- Background in computer science, and technology in a collegiate setting is preferred
- Volunteer management experience preferred
- Experience working in a startup environment is a plus
Responsibilities
Program Management & Execution
- Partner with the Sr. Manager Scholar Services and the Sr. Director, Programs to implement the “All Star Code Scholar Journey Map”, a series of interactions and decisions that our Scholars take as they pursue pathways to careers in tech and how All Star Code supports their journeys
- Works collaboratively with Sr. Manager, Scholar Services to design, deliver and evaluate programs in alignment with the “ASC Scholar Journey Map”
- Identify, plan, and implement engaging youth career coaching around a series of employment and job readiness skills, such as applications, resume preparation, interviewing, follow-up, and networking
- Support existing and new relationships with program and corporate partners for career opportunities (internship, externships, fellowships, and full-time careers)
- Create and execute synchronous and asynchronous programmatic offerings specific to the technical interviewing process (Hackerrank, HireVue, etc.)
- Actively participate in program advisory meetings and Scholar outreach
- Work collaboratively with the Sr. Manager, Research and Evaluation to develop and utilize evaluation metrics to drive program growth and improvement
- Work collaboratively with the Director of Marketing and Communications, to develop and utilize methods and campaigns to increase scholar engagement and spotlighting job placement / workforce development success stories
- Review data for alignment to outcome and goals and monitor programmatic student progress
Program Administration
- Manage career advancement opportunities and career-oriented partner offerings on the Scholar Portal
- Collect data from partners (job opportunities, continuing education opportunities, contact info) for Scholar Portal
- Maintain a database of program and one-off contacts in Salesforce and Airtable
- Codify best practices through playbook creation with Sr. Manager, Scholar Services
- Providing follow-up, referral, and support, and monitoring the progress of all SI graduates

Compensation

Salary range for this full-time position: $60,000 - $70,000
