Position: Senior Business & Technical Analyst
Location: Davis, CA (Hybrid)
Duration: 6+ Months

Note:

  • Position will be 80-90% remote with occasional visits to the center to capture requirements, meet with key people, and attend go-live events.
  • The candidate must be in Northern California and able to commute to the CNPRC campus in CA as needed.

Overview:

  • The client is seeking a Senior Business Analyst (BA) to conduct workflow analysis, write business requirements, and workflow, create data definition documents, and build process models for a new work order tracking and billing system.
  • The BA will develop interface requirements for the new system to connect to the campus financial system.
  • Additionally, the BA will support clinical workflow projects as needed.
  • The client is looking for a very strong candidate with at least 10 years of experience and very strong communication skills.
  • The project is large, fast-moving, and technically complicated.

Responsibilities:

  • Interface with business leads and functional SMEs to identify and capture current state process flow and business requirements
  • Work with the project team to identify future state process flows and requirements to meet project objectives and strategic goals
  • Hands-on role in the creation and maintenance of critical project artifacts, in particular; business requirements, system specifications, process flows and test/use case scripts
  • Facilitate design review meetings and capture outcomes, and update solution and requirement documentation
  • Comfortable working with and analysing large and complex data sets and the ability to distil and communicate findings
  • Prepare and present analysis findings to stakeholders and steering committees
  • Support the design and decision-making process with IT and business SMEs
  • Define requirements and develop reports and dashboards

Required Skills

  • Experience performing detailed business analysis
  • Organizationally diligent and meticulous with details
  • Is personable, open, and engaging, with a customer-facing attitude
  • Knowledge of the SDLC processes and project management methodologies - both waterfall and agile
  • Experience working on Scrum teams (Scrum master cert a plus)
  • Proficient in developing electronic workflows from paper process
  • Experience developing BPMN 2.0 diagrams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Prior experience working with financial systems
  • Prior experience developing requirements for financial systems interfaces
  • Prior experience on data warehousing and data analytics projects
  • Some experience with reporting tools (MicroStrategy, BusinessObjects, Crystal, Jasper, SSRS, etc.)

Preferred Skills:

  • Prior experience in a healthcare environment
  • Prior experience with medical billing
  • Any data science background (definite plus)
  • Prior experience with R programming language
  • Any experience coding in Python (even if as a hobbyist)

Tools:

  • Experience working in Jira and Confluence
  • Advanced level proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Visio
  • Experience with the interactive design tool Sketch (Mac)/Lunacy (Windows) and Sketch.cloud (plus)
  • Prior experience with BPMN modeling tools (plus)
