Waldorf Astoria is looking for a Senior Catering & Events Managerto join the team in Chicago's Gold Coast! This is an exciting time to join the team as the hotel recently completed a full renovation to include the re-concepting of the food and beverage outlets.

S., the AAA-Five-Diamond, Forbes 4-Star Waldorf Astoria Chicago is nestled in the prestigious Gold Coast neighborhood among the famed Oak Street retailers and beach, Rush Street restaurants and nightlife, and The Magnificent Mile. Reminiscent of the grand Parisian hotels of the 1920s, this luxury hotel features 215 rooms, over 5,000 square feet of meeting space and 4 food and beverage outlets. This includes a restaurant, 2 bars, and in-room dining. In this role, you will be responsible for executing group business at a legendary property. There are 9 spectacular meeting rooms featuring silk wall coverings, hand-blown chandeliers, and floor-to-ceiling windows with custom drapes. We are located in the Gold Coast neighbourhood, our chateau-style hotel is around the corner from Rush Street. Within one block is the Magnificent Mile and Oak Street. It is preferred that the ideal candidate have at least three (3) years of Catering Sales and Events execution experience, a positive can-do attitude, passion for service and creativity with superior written and verbal communication skills. What will I be doing?
As a Senior Catering and Events Manager,you would be responsible for executing written sales agreements for full-service business meetings, conventions and events and the successful execution of such events in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
- Execute written sales agreements for full-service meetings, conventions and events.
- Negotiate terms and pricing of vendor partner agreements and service agreements with companies and organizations affiliated with group business
- Maintain relationships among the customers, their representatives and the hotel to ensure full participation in servicing accounts
- Initiate verbal and written communication with customers and hotel departments outlining details and specifics of the event including, but not limited to, payment structure, room block management, food and beverage, public room rental, exhibit hall fees, incremental and affiliate revenue streams, performance damages and master billing process
- Partner with operations departments
- Monitor and assess service and satisfaction trends, evaluate and address issues and make improvements accordingly
