Senior Citizen Bus Service Supervisor
Job description
Town of East Hampton-Senior Citizen Bus Service Supervisor-$65,797.89 annually for a 40 hour work week.
The Senior Citizen Bus Service Supervisor is responsible for providing safe and reliable transportation services for East Hampton Town senior adult residents as part of the Senior Transportation Program and the coordination of the Senior Shopping Assistance program.
Responsibilities include:
- Communicating effectively with clients
- Routing, scheduling and responding to client’s transportation needs
- General supervision and training of the transportation staff including coordination and delegation of drivers daily duties, setting daily work schedules and dispatching drivers
- Preparing work schedules for Minibus Drivers
- Ability to demonstrate problem solving skills and compliance with policy and procedures, and all NY State, Suffolk County and Town regulatory requirements
- Maintaining and managing all databases relating to transportation activities
- Ensuring maintenance of vehicles, and periodically inspecting vehicles to verify they are in good running condition
- Verifying DOT compliance including driver logs and trip reporting
- Providing back up support to drivers; may operate minibus on occasion
- Maintaining safety standards in conformance with state and insurance regulations
- Develops a program of preventive safety
- Adherence to all state laws and regulations regarding transportation, licensing, safety and periodic DOT drug and alcohol testing
- Does related work as required
This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week, and the annual rate of pay is $65,797.89, with benefits, including paid vacation, enrollment in the New York State and Local Retirement system, health care and dental and vision coverage. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
The minimum qualifications are graduation from a standard senior high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and two (2) years of experience in a program providing transportation services to senior citizens. NOTE: Additional education from a college with federally-authorized accreditation or registration by NY State may be substituted for up to one (1) year of experience.
