From the high school athlete who tears an ACL to the retiree who needs a knee replacement, Ortho Central is here for each and every one of our patients. Our expert team includes six orthopedic surgeons, two sports medicine physicians, physical therapists, and workers’ compensation specialists.

• Accurately abstract information from medical records to appropriately assign ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes for both surgeon, assistant surgeon and ambulatory surgery center
• Accurately input charge information into PM system for surgeon, assistant surgeon, and ambulatory surgery center
• Assist billing and clinical staff on coding questions and reviews
• Reporting and tracking of cases that need to be posted for both physician and ambulatory surgery center
• Familiarize self with insurance specific coding guidelines and payer edits

• Bachelors of Science or Associates in Applied Arts/Science or equivalent years of experience

• Actively seek to obtain certification with American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) as a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) and/or Registration with American Association of Professional Coders (AAPC) as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Outpatient Coder (COC), Certified Inpatient Coder (CIC) or other equivalent coding certification

• Minimum of one year of professional coding experience required
• Orthopedic terminology and coding experience preferred

• $17.39-$28.40/hr based on previous work experience
