WAI, a leading international automotive parts manufacturing and distribution company, is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to be a driving force in our Miramar Engineering Team. As a key member, you will pioneer the development and design of cutting-edge aftermarket OE Motor Vehicle electronics, including BLDC motor drives, Voltage Regulators, Mass Air Flow systems, and more. The ideal candidate for this position will have a strong background in electrical engineering, with a proven track record in the design and development of automotive electronics. They will possess excellent analytical skills, be able to work in a fast-paced environment, and have a passion for delivering high-quality products that meet or exceed customer expectations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review of the Original Equipment (OE) product and development of product specifications
- Review the cost requirement, design and create prototypes of electronic circuits to meet the OE specifications
- Work with the Mechanical and process teams on the final design of the product to ensure the electronic design meets the fit, form and function as per OEM specifications and production requirements
- Evaluate and validate the final product
- Create the Product Specification documents to be posted on the web site
- Review, validate and replace electronic components with End of Life from the manufacturers used on the current electronic circuits
- Development and design of product test equipment.
- Specification of laboratory test equipment
- Technical support of product and production lines
- Other duties as assigned based on business needs or management’s request
QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience, & Skills required)
- Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering
- 8 Years of experience in Electrical Engineering field including electronic circuit design
- Circuit board layout/design is a plus
- Thorough knowledge of basic electronic lab equipment including meters, power supply, oscilloscope, function generator
- Microprocessor and Analog circuit design and analysis
- Embedded Programming (Assembly and C) and debugging of Microprocessor based designs.
- Real time control.
- Orcad or similar Schematic and board layout program experience
- AutoCAD/Draftsight and Solidworks cad program experience is a plus
- Experience with automotive electrical systems is plus
