The Role:
The Acton ADU Estimator is a forward thinking professional with an attention to detail and an obsession with maximizing software and optimization.
Responsibilities:
The following are core responsibilities of every Acton ADU Project Specialist.
- Maximize the STACK estimating system.
- Teach the STACK estimating system to new team members.
- Project discovery research pertinent to local codes, reports, surveys, inspections, permits, easements, and property details.
- Collect all pertinent documents including property plans, technical drawings, and project specifications.
- Deciding on the most appropriate human and material resources for each project in coordination with Project Management.
- Obtaining multiple quotes for each of these and then selecting the most suitable offers.
- Negotiating with service providers to secure better prices.
- Outlining the work plan to gauge how much time will be needed to complete each development.
- Performing risk assessments to account for potential deviations from the project plan.
- Accounting for the use of our resources, plus a reasonable profit margin to calculate an overarching price.
- Drafting proposals that detail envisaged materials, costs, and time frames.
- Meeting with clients to discuss their thoughts and concerns about our offers.
- Manage a growing team of outsourced estimators.
- Check the work of and being the final eye for detail on all estimates.
- Build out a substantial subcontractor library statewide.
Skill Requirements:
The following skills are required to be considered for the position of Estimator at Acton ADU.
- Proficiency with the STACK estimating software.
- Degree in mechanical engineering, architecture, or similar preferred.
- Qualification in project management is highly advantageous.
- Demonstrable experience as a construction estimator.
- Ability to forecast the cost of high-ticket, involved building developments.
- Knowledge of relevant technical and non-technical documents.
- Exceptional quantitative skills.
- Outstanding research and proposal writing skills.
- Ability to negotiate with seasoned Sales personnel.
- Dependable, conscientious, organized, and well-spoken.
- Familiarity with Procore.
- Familiarity with Slack.
