THE TEAM

Make-A-Wish America is the national headquarters for our organization, providing resources and support for our 59 Chapters around the country. The Chapter Advancement team provides and promotes a range of services for chapters and chapter leadership to advance the Make-A-Wish mission throughout the country. We are focused on a collaborative support system to ensure chapter and organizational health in delivering the mission to the communities we serve. We align our work with our four strategic pillars: Increase Our Revenue, Grant More Wishes, Inspire Our People and Enhance Our Capabilities. The team partners with chapter leadership and Board of Directors to strengthen performance, leadership, and organizational development, and to ensure adherence to national policies and performance standards to protect our brand and mission.


THE ROLE

As a member of the Chapter Advancement team, collaborates internally with the team and other National departments to ensure a holistic and unified approach to chapter performance, initiatives, resources, and support. A key liaison with the National Chapter Performance Committee, this position manages chapter structure, including analyzing and process-managing territory alignments when they occur. Provides capacity building support and service to chapters to help position them for scalable and strategic growth, including developing and managing shared service programs.


WHERE YOU COME IN

As the Senior Manager, Chapter Advancement you will:

  • Collaborate within the Chapter Advancement team and other National departments to help facilitate National strategies, programs, and resources.
  • Support the shared services strategy by building out shared service programs, including identifying standards of excellence within the Make-A-Wish enterprise and within the not-for-profit industry, developing solutions in coordination and consultation with chapters, and ensuring successful implementation and ongoing management.
  • Support the Chapter Performance Committee of the Make-A-Wish America Board of Directors in matters pertaining to chapter territory and structure, including analyzing market potential, managing the governance process associated with any changes, and documenting them.
  • Orchestrate and lead chapter re-alignment projects across departments.
  • Support and produce a library of best practices and standard guidance for chapters on critical initiatives and strategies, based on standards of excellence within the industry; facilitate the sharing of best practices and resources through the Chapter Relationship Leaders.
  • In conjunction with Brand, develop and retain a National Resource Catalog that encompasses the tools, resources, trainings, etc. available from all departments.
  • Support the development and use of the Galaxy platform.
  • Develop and manage special projects identified by Chapter Advancement leadership.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

  • Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business, or related field preferred
  • 3+ years experience in non-profit organization/environment preferred
  • Prior experience in chapter leadership or related field preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications required, including demonstrated expertise in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
