Senior Mechanical Engineer
Job description
Zachry Group is currently accepting applications for a Senior Engineer, Mechanical to join our Engineering Design Center. The Senior Mechanical Engineer will be responsible in the design office for routine engineering and design tasks of the assigned projects based on specific and detailed instructions received from the assigned supervisor as to the required tasks and results expected.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead a Mechanical team on diversified projects.
- Provide strong leadership to drive mechanical technical design and project coordination.
- Manage Project Schedules and Budgets as well as provide weekly reports to communicate project status, issues, and needs.
- Prepare and maintain resource plans.
- Prepare equipment inquiry/RFQ packages.
- Perform equipment technical bid evaluations and prepare recommendations.
- Review equipment vendor documents for compliance to project specifications and industry standards.
- Develop job notes and technical scopes of work.
- Perform field walk downs to collect information required to complete work.
- Prepare man-hour estimates for proposals.
- Attend Client, Vendor, and Internal Team meetings.
- Present technical information to peers or other personnel for review, to implement operating procedures, and resolve system malfunctions.
- Independently evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications.
- Provide specific to discipline technical expertise to the degree of preparing and providing training for other personnel; both within the company and for the customer.
- May supervise, coordinate, and review work of a small staff of engineers or technicians on assigned work.
- As a Licensed Professional Engineer, seals and signs all documentation produced by own work. May also seal and sign work done by engineers under direct supervision.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in a mechanical, or related engineering discipline
- 10 minimum years of experience in the Oi/Gas, Power Plant, and EPC sectors
- Licensed Professional Engineer
- Strong background in heat exchangers, pumps, ASME pressure vessels, and ASME piping code
- Experience in the specification of fixed and rotating equipment
- Knowledge of the ASME Codes for pressure vessels and piping systems
- Knowledge and familiarity with API Standards and Recommended Practices applicable to the specification of refinery fixed and rotating equipment
- Must maintain active status in a drug and/or alcohol testing consortium
- Full and ongoing compliance with and adherence to all vaccination requirements, as may be established by the company from time to time or by or for a particular job site.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Mineral processsing experience is a plus

Pay: $78,846.05 - $148,629.21 per year
Schedule:
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- No weekends
