In anticipation of NASA awarding the Human Landing System (HLS) Sustaining Lunar Development (SLD) contract, Dynetics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Leidos, is hiring a Senior Software Architect to support HLS and other programs as part of a diverse team that develops lunar landers, other cislunar spacecraft, and a wide range of critical technologies for civil, military, and commercial space programs.

The Software Architect will support the Dynetics Space Systems Division in the development of a human landing system and support equipment, primarily responsible for creating software requirements, developing, and managing internal and external software interfaces, and guiding the overall architecture and design of spacecraft software.

The senior level individuals in this role will work on software requirements, architecture, interface definitions, and high-level design for DHLS. The software team these positions are on will be the main bridge between the overall software team and the Systems Engineering and Integration team at the program level. You will spend quite a bit of time in Cameo System Modeler where our requirements, the software design (as expressed in UML), and interface definitions (which will be used to generate ICDs) live.

You will be maintaining traceability between our requirements and design in the software model and to the higher-level DHLS system requirements and model (which uses SysML).AS a part of this team you will also be tasked with guiding and reviewing the detailed design and implementation produced by the other software teams to ensure they all can fit together, and the overall design remains coherent.

Ideally, this team will work on a more detailed architecture model in another modeling language (called AADL).

Basic Qualifications

If you have a master’s degree in computer engineering, software engineering, computer science, or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited university. APPLY!

If you 8+ years of software development experience and demonstrate strong competency with multiple programming languages. APPLY!

If you have experience developing and/or integrating distributed system software components with an understanding of network protocols, concurrency, and asynchronous communication. As well as have experience using a modeling language such as UML, SysML, or AADL, experience with developing and managing requirements, and experience with applying CMMI to Agile software methodologies such as Scrum or Scaled Agile. Real Time Operating Systems (especially VxWorks)

Commercial automated testing tools such as LDRA, ParaSoft, or VectorCast

Modeling tools such as CATIA Cameo Systems Modeler, IBM Rhapsody, or Sparx Enterprise Architect

Requirement tools such as Cameo Requirements Modeler, DOORS, or Visure

Human related aerospace system software that follows NASA NPR-7150.2D, RTCA DO-178C, or similar software engineering standards.

Working as part of multi-company and multi-organizational development teams

Self-motivation with demonstrated ability to work under minimal supervision.
