Software Engineer :(Frontend or Fullstack Developer)

Join our team…as our Maple Grove office has an exciting opportunity for a Software Engineer (Frontend or Fullstack Developer). Primary focus will be on developing components using the React ecosystem. We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about web and mobile programming, has excellent communication skills and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Functions:

• Participate in software requirement discussions
• Consult with other developers on design strategies
• Write programming code
• Test and debug programming code
• Develop reusable responsive components using React and Redux

Required Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor's or Technical Degree in Computer Science or related field

• Minimum 2 years of professional experience with JavaScript, CSS, HTML5 and React/Redux or similar frontend JavaScript libraries
• Ability to discuss technical items verbally and in writing
• Good understanding of React Framework Concepts
• Experience with using REST APIs with React Components (promise, fetch etc.)
• Good grasp of responsive development (using any grid/responsive library e.g. Material UI)
• Familiarity with common front-end development tools such Webpack, NPM, Git etc.
• Familiarity with relational database management systems

Additional Desired Qualifications:

• Experience with backend development such as Python, Django, PostGreSQL
• Experience with GIS web application development
• Experience with mobile application development
• Experience with web UX design
• Experience with Cloud services, such as Amazon Web Services
• Experience deploying application to Linux operating systems
• Background working with scientific data in water resources, natural resources or civil engineering
• Prior consulting firm experience
