Senior Software Engineer (Remote)

Parker & Ace at Redesign Health

Parker & Ace is a new kind of veterinary clinic that combines the warmth and familiarity of a local veterinarian with modern technology and design as an extension of the patient/doctor relationship, not a replacement. We will offer a membership model with concierge primary care through an in-clinic, virtual, or hybrid experience. Members will have access to quality veterinarians wherever and whenever care is needed. We will use telehealth to triage patients to ensure that we are maximizing the impact of our veterinarians and minimizing any unnecessary visits. Parker & Ace will be merging the best of human healthcare with a seamless consumer experience to offer customized, quality care that our furry companions deserve.

Parker & Ace is looking for a talented Senior Software Engineer to support our dynamic and rapidly scaling healthcare-focused suite of software products. We are investing in continuous innovation to bring our customers and partners the best digital experiences possible.

As the Senior Software Engineer reporting to the Head of Product, you will contribute to evolving a suite of healthcare-focused SaaS and native applications. The ideal candidate will be skilled at developing high-quality software and, working in partnership with our product and design teams, stakeholders, and vendors will provide value to healthcare practitioners and their patients.

Responsibilities:

• Assume technical leadership of the Parker & Ace platform in a collaborative, agile environment
• Understand customer problems and business objectives and align development output with business-critical priorities
• Lead hands-on development, including designing infrastructure and implementation and building solutions that are scalable and improve efficiency
• Perform code reviews for team members to ensure quality, standards, and best practices are met and provide guidance and advice on the quality of code written
• Be an organized team lead who guides and inspires team members
• Drive team efficiency and productivity through collaboration and smart technical solutions
• Drive engineering culture by example

Relevant Experience:

• 5+ years of technology experience in an enterprise or web-scale product company
• 5+ years of Software Development, Configuration Management, Implementation, and/or support of cloud technologies and platforms

Significant experience with:

• Dependency management (Gradle or Maven)
• Source code control such as Git DVCS or Bitbucket
• RDBMS such as MSSQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL
• Linux, Windows and MacOS
• Developing cloud-based applications (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Design of Java applications through all layers of an application such as frontend, integration, application, and business logic
• One or more object-oriented programming languages (Java, Go, Python, JavaScript)
• Developing services, REST APIs, DAOs, and integration scenarios
• Frameworks like Spring, Struts, Activity/jBPM, and Drools
• Web application security and designing controls to guard against SQL injection, cross-site scripting etc
• Test-driven development, industry established code quality standards and use of Sonar plus usual design patterns
• Profile code for performance code profiling, application engine tuning, and configuring for web-scale
• Strong team player used to working in an agile (scrum) environment with tools like Jira and Figma
• Excellent communication skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $160,000.00 - $170,000.00 per year
