Assistant General Manager Hourly/Non Exempt/Tipped
Position Overview- A Tavern In The Square server is responsible for providing exceptional guest service by exceeding expectations, Making genuine connections, serving alcohol safely and responsibly, guiding the guest through our menu, ensuring to execute the 7 steps of service, and inviting the guest to return.
Qualifications
- High School or equivalent
- Demonstrated time management and organizational skills
- Strength in guest service
- Ability to handle cash effectively and responsibly
- Must enjoy working with people including co workers and guests
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule and have availability including days, nights, weekends and holidays.
- Is a team player
- Ability to multi task
- Ability to work standing for entire shift
- Team work oriented
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
Secondary Qualifications
- Previous experience in hourly positions in bars/restaurants.
- Certification of previous training in liquor, wine and food service
- Food handling certification
- Certification in alcohol awareness program
- Certification in C.P.R and Choke Save
- Reliable transportation.
- Computer training.
- Maintain a professional appearance
- Available a minimum of 3 shifts per week
- Ability to work on feet for log periods of time
- Propper uniform required per Tavern In The Square Standards
Tavern In The Square Server Duties & Responsibilities
Daily Shift responsibilities
- Make all guests feel welcome
- Clear and reset tables where needed
- Re stock glasses, silverware and dishes at service station, sweep floors when needed
- Serves alcohol responsibly
- Always get a manager when there is a problem
- Always be visible and available to guests
- Guest is always right attitude
- Educated in menu and able to speak to it
- Exceed guest expectations
- Positive role model to all team members. Uphold a cohesive environment for all team member
Thanking Guests & Repeat Guests
- Awareness of the importance of each guest
- Consistently treat all guests in a positive manor when interacting
- Appreciate every guest and thank them while always inviting them to return
- Responds to guest comments and feedback by getting help from managers when needed
- Practices safe alcohol service and serves responsibly
- Treat all guests like they are vip
Server Communication, Professionalism, & Initiative
- Be respectful and friendly to all Guests, Team members and Managers
- Report any issues to managers
- Organized and clean floor from the guest perspective
- Maintain a safe and sanitary area for guests.
- Treat all staff with respect.
- Be professional with all guest and team member interactions in and out of work
- Recognize and act on personal areas of development.
- Represents his/herself in a positive light through professional interactions
- Follows all Tavern In The Square procedures when speaking with guests in person
- Responds promptly to requests by superiors.
- Utilizes open door policy with management
Server Teamwork Support and Cleanliness
- Help team members where needed and treat respectfully and kind
- Get involved in community and charity events when store participates
- Spend time outside the venue to promote Tavern in The Square
- Utilize social media by company guidelines to promote brand
- Clear and reset tables as needed
- Sweep any food or debris on floors
- Restroom checks replace and restock toilet paper as needed refill soap dispensers remove any glassware
- Recognize fellow team members in need and help them where you can
- Ensure the wait stations are always stocked
- Pay attention to guests and their needs
- Tip out Support staff according to guidelines
- Greet all guests within 60 seconds or less.
- Utilize open door policy
- Complete walk-thrus with manager to ensure proper cleanliness and organization.
Requirements
3 shifts per week
Day evening weekend and holiday availability
Reliable transportation
Support execution of daily events as needed and required
Tavern In The Square dress code during all work hours
Basic Administrative functions & Basic computer skills
