Sparx Services is looking for qualified SETSS Supervisors to manage the special education programs by supporting educators with student’s learning developmental growth.

  • Maintain a Compliant Special Education Program - Ensures compliance in the administration, scheduling and evaluation of Special Education service delivery process for the development of Individual Education Plans (IEP’s), annual review, and third year re-evaluation of Individual Education Plans (IEP’s) as required by State and Federal mandates and guidelines.
  • Implement Strategies for Student Academic Growth - Supervise the implementation of plans and strategies to advance student growth consistent with research on child learning, growth and development, and strategies in special education and pupil personnel services.
  • Develops, implements, supervises and evaluates curriculum and instructional practices that align to New Jersey Student Learning Standards, consistent with the mission, philosophy, values, and instructional goals of College Achieve Public Schools and meeting all laws, codes, Board Policies and Regulations.
  • Evaluate the Effectiveness of the Special Education Program - Provides structure for periodic measurement and evaluation of the success of academic support programs in terms of the educational growth and achievement of students.
  • Collects and analyzes data, particularly state and district assessments, regarding the achievement of all students and other pertinent information affecting the design and implementation of services and programs, using the information to recommend new programs and modifications to existing programs.
  • Drop-Out Students - Oversees the continuing study and record keeping of information on drop-outs and follow up of graduates.
  • 504 Plans - Supervises the District’s responsibility to develop and implement effective Student 504 Plans. Serve as a Case Manager for all services with 504 Plans and maintain contact with their parent/guardian.
  • Equal Opportunity - Directs school services to provide all students with the equal opportunity for achievement.
  • Student Self Regulation - Promotes and supports efforts to help each student develop problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Intervention Referral Services - Provides leadership in establishing new and innovative programs, revised methodology and practices, monitoring and providing continuous improvement to the Intervention Referral Services.
  • Write Special Education Related Documents - Coordinates, advises and directs assigned personnel on matters related to the writing of special education reports and proposals to procure funds and monitor programs.
  • Manage Record Keeping - Ensures participation in the procedures and access to records, following notification of timelines and the process requirements as stated in NJ Administrative Code Title 6A Chapter 14 – Special Education.
  • Follows procedures for safe storing and integrity of all public and confidential school records, ensuring that personnel and student record keeping procedures comply with state and federal law and charter school policy.
  • Assumes responsibility for own professional growth and development, for keeping current with literature, new research findings, and improved techniques; and for attending appropriate professional meetings and conventions.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Have at least five (5) years of successful teaching/administrative experience and two (2) years excellent administrative experience as a Supervisor, Director, Principal or Vice-Principal.
  • Must have (5-7) years’ experience in Special Education
  • Knowledge of New York Special Education code
  • Have experience with curriculum development, standards, and assessment.
  • Have experience in educational leadership, classroom management techniques and a variety of effective instructional strategies.
  • Have experience with supervision and evaluation of administrative positions, instructional, and support staff.
  • Exhibit a personality that demonstrates enthusiasm and interpersonal skills to relate well with students, staff, administration, parents and the community.
  • Have the ability to motivate staff to maintain the highest standard of performance for themselves
  • Possess excellent integrity and demonstrate good moral character and initiative.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $44,373.00 per year

Schedule:

  • 4 hour shift
  • 8 hour shift
