Job Title: Shelter Night Shift Lead

Primary job location: Port Angeles

Reports to: Shelter Day Shift Supervisor

Status: Full / Part time/On Call

Supervise: 2 Employees

Salary Range $18 to $25/per hour – Night Shift

Our Shelter Shift Leads are night shift leads working to maintain the nightly operations of a 24 Hour a day shelter client. This position requires the ability to maintain the security and safety of staff and clients. Ensuring completion of work assignments from day shift including but not limited to facilities cleaning, restocking, laundry, reporting, data entry as determined by Shift leads and Operations managers. Ensure shelter guidelines are followed by staff and clients. Ensure nightly health checks, and intakes are complete. programs.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

• Provide work instruction, performance reviews and professional guidance to two staff members
• Ability to assess immediate needs of clients, staff, and situations.
• Ensure staff and clients are safe and the building is orderly
• Respond to client and/or building emergencies and initiate action as necessary
• Perform wellness and safety checks on clients as needed.
• Ensure call outs, vacation time are covered
• Provide shift reporting in government data base Homeless Management Information - HMI.
• Ensure staff Daily uses timecard system
• Ensure emergency situations follow protocol. Ensure injury reports, police reports, incident reports are written collected and ready for shift briefing.
• Maintain the ban lists
• Ensure staff and self-complete required trainings
• Ensure safety of the building (monitors outside door, regulates admissions) and performs safety checks on clients monitors security systems provide video recording tapes to police
• Ensure your team completes mightly Mop and Clean floors counters, chairs and ensure bathrooms are checked hourly for damage
• Ensure your team completes minor repairs and preventative maintenance, lights changes, toilets plunging, fire extinguisher inspections, and emergency light inspections
• Other duties as required

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma/GED/College preferred
• Ability to sit, stand, walk, and lift maximum of 50 lbs.
• First Aid/CPR desired. Required for employment to be completed within 6 months.
• Experience in working with homelessness, mental health, addiction, and/or recovery preferred
• Computer Skills intermediate/ to advanced
• Valid Washington Driver’s License/or Photo ID
• Ability to pass criminal background check
• Ability to work independently and be self-motivated and to motivate others
• Ability to lead a team, operate in the best interest of clients
