Main Purpose:
Function:
The Shift Supervisor must supervise and coordinate the following:
- The discharge and loading of vessels.
- The transfer of product between tanks.
- The loading rack operations.
- Waste water treatment plant operations.
- Supervision of Terminal Operations and maintenance personnel.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities, Key Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities:
- Create, modify and update operating procedures for any activity within the facilities.
- Assure to have all procedures and activities occurring in the facility in compliance with SAPS.
- Coordinate with traders, agents, inspectors, contractors, operators and all the people involved in the activities for the discharge or loading of tankers in such a way that the operation is performed safely, according to schedule and within the agencies and company policies.
- Generate work permits to perform any Danger, high, hot or confine space work.
- Review daily inventory behavior (by means reports) to verify that there are no deficits or surpluses, or any operation performed wrongly.
- Submit monthly operations report regarding all inventory behavior of the month with its corresponding loses.
- Be aware and review the facility condition and live operations day to day by means of inspection rounds and reports. Help to program and coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Identify and recommend operational improvements to Operations Manager.
- Identify system and equipment malfunction and safety hazards. Prepare work orders and Acts/Conditions unsafe reports according with SAPS and company policies to ensure that work within the facilities is performed in maximum security and safety conditions.
- Perform and/or coordinate with contractors, maintenance activities at the facilities based on programs previously determined by maintenance and operations personnel.
- Supervise and coordinate Plant personnel working schedules and activities.
- Manage projects within the facilities as tank cleaning, process and systems improvements and all assigned by the Operations Manager.
- Prepare and request purchase orders for tools, materials and equipment, following company procedures.
- Coordinate and/or Participate in all training courses scheduled by HSSE, Operations, HR as well as in all contingency drills.
- Comply with any task entrusted by the Operations Manager within the operations of the facilities.
Requirements:
Experience:
- Chemical, mechanical or industrial engineer, Industrial Technician or equivalent.
- 5 years minimum experience in industrial facilities in areas related to maintenance, production and industrial safety. 10 years minimum experience if educational requirements not met.
Skills / Qualifications:
- Proactive and willing to propose the continuous improvement of the facilities and processes applied in the plant
- Active Leadership
- Oral and written English, preferably
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Good communication skills (verbal and written)
- Fluent in English (other languages will be a plus)
