Most positions offers Per Diem (must qualify) and 2 weeks of housing.
The local rate is higher with no per diem.

*3-5 years experience in Shipyard
*Measuring, grinding, lay-out on carbon steel
* This position is responsible for performing, with minimal supervision, steel structural work in all stages of the new construction of marine vessels.
*Fabricates metal structural parts, such as plates, bulkheads, and frames, and braces them in position within the hull of the ship for riveting or welding.
*Lay-out position of parts on metal, working from blueprints or templates and using scribe and hand-tools Study engineering drawings and blueprint to determine material requirements and task sequences and performs layouts in accordance with specifications.
* Marks location of holes to be drilled and installs temporary fasteners to hold the part in place for welding or riveting ensuring to follow all sketches, written and verbal instructions.
* The individual must possess experience in the trade, knowledge of ship terminology, blueprint reading, measurements, and the ability to interpret job specifications and drawings.
* May tack weld clips and brackets in place prior to permanent welding.
* Must be able to pass Fitter basic test and drug screen.
