Floor Person - M-F 6am to 2pm

Job Description

Worthington's Twinsburg facility has an immediate opening in its Shipping & Receiving department, for a floorman. The ideal candidate will have experience in shipping, receiving and inventory control as well as excellent crane and material handling skills. We are seeking a problem-solver with a positive mindset and ability to work well in a team-oriented, time sensitive environment.

Must be able to work day shift, 6am to 2pm, M-F. Requires some weekend and overtime work as needed per customer demand.

Summary
Receiving team members are responsible for efficiently unloading, staging, storing and inventorying material received using computer software and standard operating procedures. They must communicate effectively with drivers and team members and will perform additional related tasks to meet facility and department goals between arrivals while performing shipping transactions.

Responsibilities

• Ensures proper receipt of coils into computer system; accurately enters data into computer system
• Unloads and stores materials in proper location
• Safely utilizes crane/tractor to place material into inventory
• Participating in department Transformation and 6S activities
• Follows all standard work and job instructions for assigned tasks
• Communicates and coordinates with outside departments on shipping/receiving
• Works and behaves in accordance with Our Philosophy, putting Safety First & maintaining high Quality standards.
• Trains and mentors other shipping/receiving employees
• Other duties as assigned

Desired Experience

• Knowledge of inventory control and standard receiving procedures
• Working knowledge of PC and Windows operating system (Oracle, Microsoft Office)
• Communication and conflict resolution skills to effectively work with internal and external stakeholders (employees, drivers, area managers)
• Organization skills and attention to detail
• Excellent forklift/material handling skills
• Basic math skills for verification of receipt quantities
• Working knowledge of applicable shipping, receiving and inventory computer transactions for update capability.
• Functional knowledge of additional shipping, receiving and inventory applications for information review only.
• Familiarity with or ability to learn quickly plant-wide production, purchasing and maintenance activities to facilitate the appropriate stocking and issuing of MRO items
• Interest in developing additional skills and knowledge through cross-training and other developmental opportunities
• Forklift license / Crane Certification
• Must have a valid driver’s license
