The Ruhlin Company is seeking to hire a Site Safety Specialist. This position will be assigned to a construction project located in Columbus, Ohio.

Position Summary: Assigned so a specific construction site to assist in the implementation of the Company safety program to help ensure a safe, healthy and accident-free work environment.

Position Responsibilities:

• Ensure Company safety policies and procedures are understood by employees and implemented consistently company-wide.
• Conduct frequent comprehensive on-site safety assessments as part of a constant monitoring process.
• Documents all safety violations or unsafe conditions/activities; ensures corrective measures are immediately implemented; follow through to ensure corrections have been made.
• Educates project personnel through on the spot training and Tool Box Safety Talks.
• Completes accident reporting and investigation, as needed; may provide transportation to an injured worker in need of medical attention.
• Administers the Company s Substance Abuse Policy.
• Issue and inventory PPE (personal protective equipment) as needed.
• Provide orientation to all project employees regarding the safety practices required on the project and by the Company.
• Maintain organized safety and jobsite files and records.
• Communicate frequently with Superintendents, Foreman and craft workers regarding their good safety practices as well as those in need of improvement.
• Participate in department and project meetings as needed.
• Perform data entry as needed and other recordkeeping tasks including, but not limited to, filing and paperwork completion.
• Communicate and reinforce the Company vision, values and goals.
• Perform all duties in accordance with the Company s safety policies.
• Performs additional assignments per supervisor s direction.

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Excellent organizational skills
• Eager to learn and excel in the field of construction safety and health
• Willing and able to commute to the corporate office for occasional meetings as needed
• Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
• Bachelor s Degree in Occupational Safety & Health
• Experience in the field of construction and/or general industry as a Safety and Health professional
• Ability and willingness to work occasional evening and overnight shifts as needed when critical construction operations are being performed.
