Job Summary:
Working as part of the maintenance team, this person will assist in the total operation of the Maintenance Department using his wide variety of skills. Performs a variety of general maintenance and skilled maintenance tasks at various locations throughout the school system.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assists HVAC in heating/cooling operations district wide as needed
• Solves problems in a wide variety of maintenance projects as assigned, including buildings, pools, and sites
• Maintains and operates tools, equipment and vehicles used in maintenance operation
• Coordinates other people assigned to assist on his maintenance projects
• Available at all times to assist in building and site emergencies including snow removal
• Performs general maintenance responsibilities as required
• Performs other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor
• Ensure personnel follow established safety procedures.
• Maintain effective predictive and preventive maintenance programs.

Job Qualifications:

• Ability to identify and troubleshoot mechanical problems; e.g.: pumps, traps, and energy management systems
• Ability to maintain heating/cooling
• Ability to troubleshoot and maintain pool operations
• Leadership ability and ability to work effectively with others
• General knowledge of construction
• Ability to read blueprints
• Possess the following skills: General carpentry, electrical and plumbing repair experience, operation of motor driven vehicles, sewers, paving, care of grounds, marking and laying out gym floors, glazing, equipment repair, painting, caulking, locks, door closures, roof maintenance, flooring, locks, masonry as well as other possible areas not listed
• Valid drivers license
• Ability to move, operate and drive heavy equipment and/or maintenance vehicles
• Ability to lift objects over 50 lbs., climb ladders, crawl in tunnels, move and operate heavy equipment, and stand long hours while doing physical labor

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.91 - $24.38 per hour
