Provide Healthy Families America home visitation services.
Essential Job Functions
- Conduct home visits.
- Provide case management services.
- Provide crisis intervention services.
- Provide assessments of infant and child development
- Provide assessments of social and emotional development
- Provide assessments of risk of domestic violence
- Provide assessments of home, infant, and child safety
- Provide positive parenting education and support.
- Provide infant and child development education and support.
- Provide social and emotional development education and support.
- Provide screening for perinatal depression.
- Provide goal setting education and support.
Ancillary Job Functions
- Determine eligibility for and provide departmental programs and services.
- Provide pregnancy testing, risk assessment, counseling, and referrals to appropriate health and human service providers.
- Provide information and referral services.
- Data entry and records management.
- Participate in training and professional development regularly.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience - An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Nursing, Education, Human Development or related human service field.
- Minimum of three years relevant experience in one of the above fields.
- Experience working with or providing services to children and families.
- Experience working with culturally diverse populations.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
- Must maintain CPR certification.
- Must be registered with the Missouri Family Care Safe Registry.
- Must complete the Healthy Families National Home Visitors 40 hour course of training,*
- Must complete HOME, DOVE, ASQ3, ASQ-SE2, Edinburgh depression scale, and HFA Core and Assessment training.

- Considerable knowledge of principles and practices of social work.
- Ability to work effectively with customers of diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Broad knowledge of community resources and ability to evaluate resources and make appropriate referrals.
- Ability to provide health information and training to participants of all educational levels.
- Ability to independently assess, respond to, and report any risk or instance of child abuse, domestic violence, imminent danger and/or harm to self or others.
- Ability to solve problems independently or with the help of a supervisor or co-worker.
- Ability to perform crisis intervention.
- Ability to interpret and comply with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Ability to operate computer, telephone, and fax machine.
- Knowledge of infant and child development.
- Ability to interpret and comply with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Ability to establish trusting relationships.
- Open to reflective practice (i.e. has capacity for introspection, communicates awareness of self in relation to others, recognizes value of supervision, etc.).
- Acceptance of individual differences.
- Ability to use personal vehicle for business purposes.

- Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
- Regularly required to speak clearly and distinctly and listen.
- Must be able to grasp, push, drive, reach with hands/arms, and stoop/crouch, move up and down from/to sitting position on the floor, and provide physical support and care of children.
- Must be able to have repetitive wrist, hand and/or finger movement to type and work on computer.
- Must have clarity of vision and precise hand-eye coordination to operate computer and drive to appointments.
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds.
- Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function.
