looking for a qualified Software/Application Developer to support our contract at Womack Army Medical Center (WAMC),
located in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, in Fayetteville, NC.
Job description
We’re seeking a Software/Application Developer with a working knowledge of the current operations and other software being
utilized at the Defense Health Agency (DHA) or Government offices, to provide day-to-day management and support of the
WAMC website and SharePoint environment.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Develop, implement, and maintain unique WAMC software through the complete application development lifecycle.
- Perform administration on Development, Test and Source Code Repository servers.
- Keep current with trends and technology shifts related System and application development.
- Have overall responsibility for performance of hardware, system, and application software. Updates content of the various pages/files on the server.
- Recommend hardware and software purchases, system upgrades, and expansions.
- Create and maintains applications using a variety of programming techniques including Hypertext Markup Language (HTML), ASP.NET, JAVA, and C #.
- Support customers with creation of systems/software, including graphics integral to those documents. Loads files and manages structures to ensure appropriate operation and isolation of separate application areas.
- Familiar with the status of Internet, Intranet, and WWW policies and positions, Army Department of Defense programs, directions and goals related to the IM IT.
- Install, configure, and test new software upgrade packages for both the application and database server operating system and all browser application packages, as appropriate for the WAMC.
- Install application programming software and establishes security settings and procedures for all these capabilities.
- Monitor, adjust, and upgrade servers to ensure optimization of servers.
- Maintain system logbooks to reflect all changes and documentation.
- Monitor system performance daily, which includes checking and analyzing operating system log files and appropriate web applications server, SQL database server, etc.) log files. Interprets log files anomalies and takes appropriate corrective actions.
- Develop documentation to reflect standards and operating procedures.
- Establish Web application development standards as it relates to size, structure, content, template design and authorizing tools.
- Coordinate closely with IMD Management and customers to ensure system content is within established standards.
- Participate in studies and surveys to identify hardware and software solutions for technical and functional problems/needs and provide general technical support to the MEDCEN.
- Serve as an advisor to other in-house personnel with regard to system/application related discussions to include optimization of workstation and server development.
- Perform system/software and database servers updates, manages security aspects of developed systems and software protect personally identifiable information (PII) and protective health information (PHI).
- For public facing systems/applications, performs Operational Security (OPSEC) review of public facing content, analysis of appropriate log file entries and implementation of security countermeasures, when necessary.
- Perform countermeasures that may include adjusting security controls like access permissions, password files, and access control lists.
- Refer serious security problems to the Information Assurance Team. Monitors system security performance logs daily, which includes checking and analyzing appropriate applications. Interprets log file anomalies and takes appropriate corrective actions.
- Provide support to the IMD staff on various special projects to include but not limited to user interface development, business intelligence portal, digital signature technology, training, evaluation and implementation of developing technology, business development, etc.
- Work on a team or as a team leader to assist in the design, development, and implementation of various and diversified projects. • Give briefings to Team Leaders and Management as required (example: progress report, project reports, proposed changes to solution proposals, and new solutions).
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems or related field and 1 year of experience working with ASP.net, SQL Database or 3 years’ experience working with ASP.net, SQL Database.
- Strong experience with Visual Studio and Team Foundation Server. Proven development ability in Web technologies, C#, Windows Server, SQL Server Database, jQuery, HTML5, XML, CSS, IIS, .net, AJAX, Web API, InfoPath, Central Admin.
- Must have Security + (CE)
- Must have strong interpersonal and listening skills and the ability to effectively interact with all levels of WAMC Staff in a professional manner and with a professional demeanor.
- Able to contribute to a professional work environment by demonstrating integrity, promoting teamwork, and fostering positive communication.
- Strong time management skills and ability to coordinate and prioritize tasks with little supervision. Must be self-directed and detail oriented in completing assigned tasks in an effective manner, meeting designated standards and criteria.
- Able to work in a deadline-oriented environment is essential.
- Able to adapt to changing work efforts, manage impact of shifting priorities, and resolve technical emergencies as they may occur.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse, team environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication. Contact with customers is frequent and must maintain good customer relations.
