As a key component of the deal team, this role synthesizes requirements to develop innovative presentations of high level, end to end solutions to enable deal closure and sell value. With technical and subject expertise, the Solution Consultant supports the sales initiatives through deep knowledge of customer workflows and innovative technologies. This role actively collaborates with Customer Operations teams, Proposition, Sales, Market Development and Technology to address specific customer workflows needs that can include multiple products, third party solutions and new capabilities.
This role provides deep industry, solution or product expertise to sales process. Solution Consultants are responsible for delivering the value of the whole firm to our customers by providing specialized consulting activities for pre-sales of replicable and scalable packaged solutions to customer business workflow challenges in order to gain new business, win market share and increase customer satisfaction. This position is responsible for engaging/assisting customers in the sales process.
Role Responsibilities
  • Prioritizes pricing and reference business requirements and successfully translates that to executable team deliverables
  • Involved in building sophisticated solutions that include professional services, third party solutions and/or integration with client workflow/systems and the use Proof of Concepts to visualize effective solution
  • Brings a mix of industry, product, content, data science and customer workflow expertise to collaboratively shape solutions (e.g clarification, specification, documentation and solution technical design)
  • Coach and mentor team members and manage team absence
  • Work with management to fulfil hiring and staffing requirements
  • Capture customer specific technical and data requirements through face to face interactions with partners, third parties and customers
  • Coordinates and partners with Customer Operations, Proposition and broader sales teams to meet customer solution needs
  • Runs detailed technical customer presentations for complex deals
  • Works with internal stakeholders including customer operations to deliver POCs including development/integration work and to own and define proposals and statements of work
  • Ensures collaboration with dedicated Customer Operations implementation team
Qualifications and Experience Required
  • 8+ years’ financial industry experience with, ideally, a proven track record in supporting the sale of software solutions in challenging and complex environments with at least 2 years as a leader or mentor/coach for a team
  • BA degree
  • Understanding of basic financial and/or corporate 3rd party risks
  • Fair understanding of current financial market technologies including legacy architectures
  • Ability to multi-task and handle many simultaneous client demands
  • Excellent presentation and communication skill
  • Excellent understanding of the product sale cycle
  • Knowledge of financial industry and understanding of buy side, sell side, wealth, etc.
Compensation/Benefits Information (New York City applicants only):
LSEG is committed to offering competitive Compensation and benefits. The anticipated base salary for this position is $84,000 - $156,000.
Please be aware base salary ranges may vary by geographic location, including city and state. In addition to our offered base salary, this role is eligible for our variable incentive compensation plan. Individual salary will be reflective of job related knowledge, skills and commensurate experience. All roles are typically eligible for inclusion in our LSEG benefits program, more information & details will be provided at time of offer.
