Kensington Quarters, the flagship restaurant of
13th Street Kitchens restaurant group, is seeking a talented and ambitious
Sous Chef. This person would report directly to the Chef de Cuisine and lead the Line Cook team and the daily operations of the BOH. This is a role we are looking to grow into an Executive Sous Chef position.
We are seeking candidates that have strong organizational skills and efficient work practices, refined cooking techniques and the ability to work multiple stations on the Line. Also sought is great leadership and management ability. The culture of the kitchen is just as important to the success of the restaurant as the quality of food. A large emphasis will be placed on continuing the positive team mentality in our daily execution of the food and the ambitious goals we set.

Essential Functions:
- Excellent leadership, training, and supervision abilities.
- Product ordering and ensuring proper rotation.
- Ability to work the expo window or cover line stations as needed.
- A keen eye for managing food and labor costs.
- Ability to work nights weekends and occassionally holidays.
- Working in tandem with the Chef de Cuisine to develop specials and new menu items.
- Ability to act as Chef when Chef de Cuisine is not present.
Ideal Candidates:
- Positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
- Creative with food and familiar with techniques both old and new.
- Clean and thorough with prep and execution.
- Familiar with many different types of seafood cookery, as well as pasta-making.
- Enjoys teaching and leading a solid Line Cook roster.
