BTI Security is accepting applications for experienced and licensed Unarmed Security Operations Center (SOC) Dispatchers to provide security service at a site in NW, Washington, DC. The candidate must have an active Unarmed SPO license issued by the District of Colombia (DC) Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) Security Officers Management Branch (SOMB).

SPOs (Unarmed) Dispatchers shall perform specific duties and have specific responsibilities which are documented in Government provided SOC Post Orders.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Monitoring the computer-based ESS alarm and access control systems and closed-circuit television systems.
  • Monitoring electrical, water, and/or gas alarms and notifying the Shift Supervisor and, when necessary, requesting external emergency response services.
  • Performing emergency shutdown of utility services when necessary
  • Emergency response coordination.
  • Telephone and radio communication coordination between the Shift Supervisor and SPOs.
  • Internal and external emergency notification.
  • Maintenance of a daily activity log of incidents; and preparation of reports of incidents.
  • Maintaining a lost and found articles log.
  • Receiving, issuing, storing, and accounting for controlled Center KEYTRAK.
  • Receiving, issuing, storing, and accounting for controlled property.
  • Responding to staff and the general public regarding security related questions (lost and found, etc.).
  • Correctly attired in uniform, equipment, and grooming.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in law enforcement, or security or a combination of both
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalency; however, collegiate academic course work or an AA/AS degree is preferable
  • Current SPO (Unarmed) license issued by the District of Columbia Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) Security Officers Management Branch (SOMB)
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience working in a SOC which includes experience in the operation of computer-based alarm monitoring and access control systems and radio/telephone
  • Pass suitability determination
  • Possess a current “CPR/First Aid” card issued by the American Red Cross or equivalent
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills

Training Requirements

  • All SPOs must complete the training requirements and pass the required written examination. All SPOs must take the following training:
  • Security Post Orders
  • Emergency Evacuation Procedures
  • Code Bravo
  • Watch Tour Procedures

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $29.42 per hour
