We are home to the only trauma center in New London and Windham counties, and are the only area hospital with LIFE STAR helicopter services. JOB SUMMARY

Performs a variety of tasks related to cleaning, decontamination, assembly, sterilization and distribution of equipment, instrumentation and supplies required by medical, nursing, and paramedical personnel for the care, diagnosis and treatment of patients.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
None.
License and Certification:
Complete Instrument Training within 18 months of promotion to CPD Tech and complete CSPDT (Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician) or CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) within 36 months.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

Experience:
Prior SPD experience, Medical terminology
License and Certification:
CSPDT (Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician) or CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician).

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to read and understand oral and written instructions, and effectively communicate information. Basic computer skills (including opening/reading email, basic internet use).
Ability to read and understand oral or written instructions, and communicate necessary information. Basic computer knowledge in order to enter/retrieve data. Ability to operate applicable hospital equipment.

Work is performed in accordance with instructions and procedures. Requires the ability to recognize problem situations and refer them to the appropriate staff member.
